Blended Families course

It takes time to learn how to function as an expanded family. Expect it to take as long as four years. Love does not usually occur instantly between stepparent and stepchildren or among stepsiblings. Conflicting habits do not easily blend together.

Adjustments are less frustrating when expectations are minimal and realistic. Learn how to respond to:

• Dysfunctional and bonding issues
• Resentment of a new parent or stepsiblings
• Interference of a former spouse
• Incest vulnerabilities
• The role of multiple (as many as eight) grandparents
